Ane Brun with an exclusive concert celebrating Moldejazz 60th anniversary

Molde's own international star, Ane Brun, is doing an exclusive concert in Bjørnsonhuset during the anniversary festival. For this occasion, she has with her Marte Eberson. The duo performs music from Ane Brun's 17-year record career, with both old and new material.

Ane Brun has had an adventurous journey as an artist ever since her debut album Spending Time with Morgan in 2003. Excellent reviews have followed a series of brilliant albums and fantastic concerts. It All Starts with One (2011), When I'm free (2015) and the cover album Leave Me Breathless (2017) are highlights so far in her rich discography. The Directions Tour 2015/16 visited Moldejazz and our venue Romsdalsmuseet in the summer of 2016 and clearly demonstrated that Brun is among our very best live artists. Since then she's had several concerts with different constellations – solo, with bands and with various symphony orchestras around Scandinavia.

There is no doubt that Brun has a great love for her hometown Molde – and for Moldejazz. She has performed at the Romsdalsmuseet during the festival in 2005, 2008, 2012, 2016. Most recently last year when she attended the Madrugada concert and did a lovely version of «Lift me» with Sivert Høyem. During this year's anniversary festival, everything's set for a new magical moment, now as an exclusive duo with pianist Marte Eberson, known from bands such as Highasakite, Eberson and Löv. Eberson has her roots in jazz music, but in recent years has proven to be a musician with great versatility. She is a genre-crossing musician with pop, rock, funk, jazz-rock and jazz on the repertoire.

Brun will perform songs from her entire 17-year long record career, with both old and new material. That probably means that one or more of the new singles from her upcoming album – perhaps «Honey» releasing June 5 – is on the setlist. This is clearly going to be a very exclusive concert and Moldejazz' extremely proud that one of our local musicians in this way helps to write festival history at our anniversary festival.
