Festival Artist 2025

Moldejazz and Møre og Romsdal Art Centre have a long tradition of collaboration, and we look forward to bringing Joar Nango and his artistic vision to Molde.

The choice of Joar Nango was, in many ways, an easy one. He is one of the most exciting artists on the international art scene, and his work is widely known far beyond Norway’s borders. Nango’s projects represent an approach to the uniqueness of a place that holds double significance when he will be showcasing his work in Molde next summer. This is not only about his contemporary artistic practice, distant from Molde and Møre og Romsdal as a place, but also about his deep connection to Molde itself. Joar Nango grew up in Molde, and this blend of distance and proximity is part of what makes inviting him "home" to Molde so intriguing. We are proud to invite one of the sharpest and most influential voices in Norwegian art by bringing Joar Nango to Moldejazz and Møre og Romsdal Art Centre in the summer of 2025.

Joar Nango’s work, which spans art and architecture, gives Moldejazz and Møre og Romsdal Art Centre an opportunity to once again challenge themselves and the city on what the festival artist of the next year can be. With Joar Nango's background and approach to artistic processes, we are confident that his work will both delight and surprise the audience in Molde during the summer of 2025.
