Moldejazz will conduct this year's festival in week 29
In line with the Government's plan for reopening the community, the board of Moldejazz decided on May 8 to conduct a festival in week 29. This will be a smaller version of the originally planned anniversary festival. Nonetheless, it'll be a memorable anniversary program with a number of commissioned works and premieres.
Conducting the festival creates positive ripple effects for both musicians and suppliers who through this get paid assignments. It is also important for Molde town and not least for our large audience that we are able to conduct a festival. Moldejazz, as the leading Norwegian jazz festival, wants to take the lead in this situation as well and help to set a standard for how festivals can be conducted within the restrictions imposed by the government.
The scheduled concerts at the Romsdalsmuseet, the Sparebank1 SMN stage in the Alexandra Park and at Bjørnsonhuset have been cancelled. All tickets purchased for these events are refunded automatically.
The new festival program will be released in week 22. The ticket sales for these concerts will start as soon as they are announced.
