Rabbajazz 2024 (Concerts for children)
Welcome to the children's universe at Plassen!
Every year, Moldejazz creates a special program for our youngest audience. Here, you are invited to magical moments where anything can happen. Bring an adult and join us at Storyville during Moldejazz.
Here is the program:
Tone Hulbækmo & Eventyrorkesteret - Eg kan!
Tone Hulbækmo is an artist who loves performing for children of all ages—and for adults with a childlike spirit
At the concert during Moldejazz, Tone Hulbækmo performs songs from her latest children's album, which was also nominated for the Spellemann Award. Tone has set music to texts written for children by some of Norway's finest authors: Inger Hagerup, André Bjerke, Alf Prøysen, Erlend Loe, Jan-Magnus Bruheim, and more.
The lyrics blend humor and seriousness, fantasy and whimsy, while Tone has crafted immediate, catchy melodies in the realms of ballad, cabaret, folk music, and world music that groove profoundly. These are performed on intriguing instruments. Not to be forgotten, she is accompanied by wonderful musicians always ready for new musical adventures!
This concert promises to evoke nostalgic feelings for parents and grandparents alike. You'll meet characters like Matmonsen dreaming of a caramel as tall as a mountain, the woman from Toten with a sore foot, and if you like, you can rhyme, count, and sing along to the refrains. There's no age limit on the music or lyrics, with a relaxed and outgoing atmosphere and plenty of interaction with the audience.
In short, it's a genuine family concert!
Tone Hulbækmo: vocals, harp, lyre, and reed organ; Hans Fredrik Jacobsen: flutes, guitar, oud, two-row accordion; Alf Hulbækmo: keyboards, harmonica; Magnus Skavhaug Nergaard: double bass; Hans Hulbækmo: drums and percussion.

Yeisy Rojas & Torbjørn Kvamme
Children's concert with Yeisy Rojas and Torbjørn Kvamme
Yeisy was a permanent member of the Opera and National Ballet in Havana before moving to Norway to study jazz violin at the Agder Conservatory. Last year, she released her first album and music video, gaining attention from both Billboard and Rolling Stone. Joining her on piano is Torbjørn Kvamme, known for his role as a presenter on NRK's Christmas Morning show. He also works as a musician and has collaborated with well-known artists such as Madcon and Staysman.
The performance includes magic, colors, and dance, but above all, the rhythms and music associated with Cuban folklore. From delicate ballads on the violin to massive layered percussion loops creating a rhythmic extravaganza.
